Tofino for the 6th time

Kat and I headed up to Tofino again for a week of working out of a rented condo a few feet from the beach. We’ve done this before and it’s perfect… work in the morning, go hiking on coast in the afternoon, take a few breaks during the day to go chill on the beach and remember why we bother waking up. I’m really seriously considering moving here, at least for part of the year.

We stayed at the Sylvia last night and went out to dinner with our friends Brian and Hiro to Rain City Grill (great!). We left Vancouver in snow and, about an hour into the ferry ride we were in pee soup fog with heavy snow (cool!). I was pretty worried about the road coming here, it’s a twisty mountain pass. I-90 in WA has been closed all week due to snow… but the road here was sanded, salted… no problemo. And Tonfio… beautiful and in the 50’s.

Here’s the condo we’re staying in… it’s the one on right. And, yes, there’s a fair bit of snow here but I was wearing shorts all day without a problem.
